Army Staff Sgt. Eric M. Steffeney

Army Staff Sgt. Eric M. Steffeney died February 23, 2005 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Steffeney 28, of Waterloo, Iowa was assigned to the 184th Ordnance Battalion, 52nd Ordnance Group, Fort Bragg, N.C. He was killed when an improvised explosive device detonated in Tuz, Iraq.

Steffeney, died Wednesday when an undetected roadside mine north of Baghdad exploded. He was checking on another nearby mine that had been intentionally detonated when the second one exploded.
