Joseph Delashmutt

Joseph Delashmutt, 27, of Le Mars, Iowa died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009. Joe enlisted with the Iowa Army National Guard between his junior and senior year of high school. Upon graduation from high school, Joe completed his basic training and continued his assignment with the 1-113 CAV at Le Mars. The 1-113 CAV was activated to serve in the war on terrorism under the Iraqi Freedom mobilization.

Upon returning from Iraq, Joe was awarded several medals, including the following: Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Armed Forces Reserve Medal. Joe was very proud and honored to have served his country.
