Sgt. Kyle Clayton Thomas

Sgt. Kyle Clayton Thomas, 24, of the Senatobia-based 2d Battalion, 198th Armored Regiment, was killed Monday night when the vehicle he was in was involved in a rollover while conducting combat maneuver operations on Monday in California.

Thomas was among four 2-198 AR Soldiers conducting combat maneuver operations in a M1A2 SEPv2 Abrams Main Battle Tank. The 2-198 AR is a subordinate battalion within the Tupelo-based 155th Armored Brigade Combat Team.

Three other Mississippi National Guardsmen were injured when the four soldiers were involved in a rollover incident in an M1A2 Abrams Main Battle Tank at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin.
