Petty Officer 1st Class Joseph Adam McSween, 26, of Valdosta, GA, formerly of York, NE, died April 6, 2007 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom. McSween was assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit 11(Diver), Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Wash. He died from enemy action while conducting combat operations near Kirkuk, Iraq. Adam was assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 11, a highly trained unit who has expertise in identifying explosive materials and rendering them safe.
