SPC Robert J. Tauteris, 44 of Hamlet, Indiana, was assigned to 81st Troop Command, Indiana National Guard, Indianapolis, Indiana. Tauteris died January 6, 2012 in Nilay, Kandahar province, Afghanistan, when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device.
